2026 - 2030 Initiatives 




Service and sisterhood have been the cornerstone of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® since 1908. With the theme Championing Service. Empowering Sisterhood. Transforming the World., the 2026-2030 administration seeks to build upon Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s rich legacy of service by galvanizing our sisterhood of more than 390,000 initiated members and over 1122 chapters, spanning 45 states and territories and 12 nations, to lead on the front lines of change, education, and advocacy.



This administration has nine initiatives. Foster the Future: From Here to Hope serves as the administration’s “Signature Initiative” and is a compassionate call to action designed to uplift vulnerable children and families by addressing immediate needs while creating long-term opportunities for stability, success, and belonging. 


Strategic Focus

  •     Support children in foster and kinship care through education, mentorship, and essential resources
  •     Partner with agencies, schools, and community organizations serving vulnerable youth
  •     Provide family-centered support that promotes dignity, healing, and empowerment
  •     Increase awareness and advocacy around foster care and family support systems
  •     Create sustainable pathways toward academic achievement, emotional wellness, and lifelong success


The remaining eight initiatives which will serve as the “Target Initiatives” include:

The 2026–2030 program reflects a shared vision for initiatives that are customizable, sustainable, collaborative, and impactful. The result is a comprehensive framework that empowers chapters of every size and capacity to meet the unique needs of their communities while creating lasting global impact.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY

OVERVIEW
We will advance educational excellence by creating equitable pathways to learning, leadership, literacy, and lifelong achievement for children, youth, families, educators, and underserved communities.



Strategic focus
  • Promote literacy and academic success from cradle to career
  • Support educators through advocacy, appreciation, and professional development
  • Expand access to college readiness, career exposure, and scholarship opportunities
  • Strengthen family and community engagement in education
  • Invest in confidence-building, leadership development, and mentorship for youth

AKA FAMILY MATTERS

Overview

Strengthen families and communities by promoting safety, connection, stability, preparedness, and multigenerational wellness through intentional engagement and supportive programming


Strategic focus
  • Encourage healthy family relationships and support systems
  • Provide resources for kinship care and family stabilization
  • Promote youth engagement, mentoring, and life skills
  • Increase awareness around safety, preparedness, and violence prevention
  • Foster stronger intergenerational connections and community support

HEALTH AWARENESS & WELL-BEING

Overview
Improve the overall health and well-being of communities by increasing education, access, prevention, advocacy, and culturally responsive wellness initiatives for all ages.

  • Address health disparities impacting underserved communities
  • Promote preventive screenings and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Expand mental health awareness and emotional wellness support
  • Increase awareness around women’s, men’s, and youth health concerns
  • Encourage holistic wellness, self-care, and community healing


ECONOMIC GROWTH & SUCCESS

Overview
Empower individuals, families, and communities to build sustainable wealth, financial stability, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity through education, access, advocacy, and innovation.

  • Increase financial literacy and wealth-building knowledge

ENVIRONMENTAL & SUSTAINABILITY ACTION

Promote environmental responsibility, sustainability, and community stewardship through education, advocacy, conservation, and action-driven initiatives that protect future generations.

  • Highlight African American culture, heritage, and contributions
  • Support emerging artists and cultural entrepreneurs

Strengthen global awareness, service, collaboration, and cultural understanding by connecting communities across nations through impactful outreach and international engagement.
